Blog Review on Idalia's blogpost: Insurgent (Spoiler Alert)

       I have recently read Idalia Gonzalez's blogpost on, "Insurgent" the second book of the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth. I have read "Insurgent" also, and the first book "Divergent" as well. It is a well-written book, I must say. It's one of the best books I've read, and I did write a blogpost on it. I hope you'll check it out sometime. Did you think that the decisions Tris made were the best?

I honestly think she should've put more thought into her decisions, but overall 

the choices she made throughout the whole book were rather correct. If she made different choices, it would've had a huge effect on the outcome of the book. One of them could've possibly ended up dead, which is something none us would enjoy if it occurred. 

      I like how you gave the meaning of the word 'Insurgent', and explained how it connected to the story. I agree with the fact that 'Tris' is a rebel, because if she wasn't she wouldn't have gone out of the way and done all of this. She is against the type of government that's in control in that time period, making her a 'rebel'. So I agree with you on that part.

     I also liked how you gave a quick summary to the reader, and then gave your opinion on the whole situation. I agree that she is standing up for what she believes in by joining forces with the factionless and Candor to defeat the Erudite and Dauntless. Don't you think Tris is really strong in character? She is aware of the risks, the possibility of failure and certain death but continues to stand up for what she believes is right, awarding her the trait of 'bravery'. 

  Overall, I really enjoyed reading your blogpost. I just think you should've maybe added more of your opinion instead of giving a retell of the whole story. I would've really liked to read your side on all of what's occurred in the book.

Non-fiction Blogpost

I recently read an article called, "San Diego Family Slaps Disneyland With
Charges of Racism, Say 'White Rabbit' Character Shunned Their Kids
Because They Are Black" on 'NYDailyNews.com'. This is article is about how the 'White Rabbit' character from, 'Alice In Wonderland', basically shunned the black children but then showed lots of affection towards 2 white children who walked up to the character moments later. 

According to this article, Disneyland offered the family VIP passes in
return for a signed settlement but the family had refused because the kids were really upset of the character's actions. Jason Black, the age of 6, had said that he wanted to hug the White Rabbit 'character' but "he turned his back". The author wants us to first know about the situation and what seems wrong and right here. The author does this by giving us direct quotes from an interview with the Blacks family. Quotes such as; "There were two other kids that came up and the rabbit showered them, hugged them, kissed them, posed with them, meanwhile that made my kids feel horrible," Jason Black Sr said. 

The author wants me to feel bad and to think of how many racist people
 are out there by informing us on this incident. I feel that it's not fair that people are treated horribly because of their skin color and racial differences. It's horrible to neglect children because of their race & skin color, and then shower another child with lots of affection (whose most likely the same race you are). It's not right, because it just adds another problem to the long list of issues of society today. I believe that this employee should be fired, and Disneyland should give a public apology because it's simply not right to treat a child like this because of racial differences.
